The PS3 is Sony's next-gen console coming out in late 06' but the question is are you willing to become DIRT POOR and purchase this system.

Price: $500 for the Core System, $600 for the full thing.

I know what a rip off.

    Yet another thing that is wrong with it is that the controller is 2 times heavier than the original PS2 controller and the handles are more than 3 times longer making the controller very uncomfortable to the original video game player. PS3 is currently working on a new model though. 

POSITIVES

The Positives for this system are that it is Sony's next gen game console and will therfore have many publishers making games for it at least at first.  It also the most powerful of all the next gen consoles and comes with the new Blue ray drive.  Also like the PS2 the PS3 can play most of the old PS1 and PS2 games.

NEGATIVES

IT COSTS 500-600 DOLLARS THAT IS ENOUGH TO NOT GET IT. For the price of this system+games you could get both a Wii and a 360 with one or two games.  Their has also been reports that the PS3 is a lot harder to program for there by making some companies not want to make games for it or as many.  It's showing at E3 06 was not that good and actually raised questions from industry insiders of how well the console will be able to do.  

                    The latest Sony system to come out was the PSP, which is a hand held game. It came out around same time as the Nintendo DS and the  DS blew it out of the water in Japan and holds a lead over it in all other areas. We can only wonder how things will turn out between Nintendo's Wii and PS3.

                      Who will win the money battle?

Although the price of the system is enough to drive anyone crazy. The PS3 is going to have a few games that will be big, epic, etc. Games coming out for it are Resistance: Fall of Man made by the people who made the Ratchet and Clank games. Heavenly Sword which looks like a prettier version of God of War, another difference is that you play as a woman.
